Studio Time Journal — November & December Update
Anita WoodAs we move through the final weeks of the year, I want to thank you for the flexibility, kindness, and creative generosity you continue to bring to Studio Time. With travel, holidays, and life itself shaping our schedules, here are the updates for our November and December sessions.
THE SHADOW KNOWS — November Sessions
Our November theme, The Shadow Knows, continues as we study light, depth, and expressive darkness through all media. I’ve gathered several of my own shadow-rich paintings as inspiration, and I’ll also share these in the Studio Time Community Facebook Group.
Updated November Dates
Thursday, November 20 — 1:00–4:00 PM EST
Our main session; Zoom link will be sent separately.
Second November Session:
Proposed Monday, December 2 — 1:00–4:00 PM EST
I am available this day, and it keeps us close to the intended flow of the theme.
Please let me know if this date works well for you.
DECEMBER 2025 THEME:
Watercolor in Motion — The Poetry of Wet-into-Wet
December is always a full, festive, and sometimes hectic month, so we’ll adjust gently to accommodate the holidays and my travel schedule.
December’s theme invites softness, flow, spontaneity, and the luminous unpredictability of watercolor. Wet-into-wet work naturally supports a sense of ease and release at the end of a busy year.
Choose any subject you connect with for your painting. I’ll also send out a few suggestions to help you get started.
December Dates
Thursday, December 4 — 1:00–4:00 PM EST
Our regular first-Thursday session.
Thursday, December 11 — 1:00–4:00 PM EST
This will be our substitute second meeting since I’ll be travelling later in the month.
During our December sessions, I’ll be sharing a demo of a very loose watercolor piece — flowing edges, soft merging colors, and the magic that happens when water leads the dance.
Zoom links for Dec 4 and Dec 11 will be included in an upcoming follow-up email.
🎨 A Final Note
Thank you for your grace with these schedule shifts. I truly appreciate every one of you. Studio Time continues to be a space where we adapt, show up, encourage one another, and allow our art to grow in every season.
With Presence,
Anita
