#4 The Quiet Power of Showing Up
Most people think the hardest part of making art is skill. But skill is learned. What’s truly difficult — and truly transformative — is showing up.
Showing up when you don’t feel inspired.
Showing up when your mood is heavy.
Showing up when the painting yesterday felt like a mess.
Showing up even when you have nothing “brilliant” to say to the page.
Because something shifts the moment we sit down at the table, wet the brush, or touch the paper. Presence begins. Something inside us softens, steadies, and asks to be expressed.
Studio Time has taught me this again and again — the power of gathering, witnessing one another, and remembering that we aren’t doing creativity alone. There is quiet strength in community, and unexpected courage in being seen.
So here’s your reminder today:
You don’t have to show up perfectly.
You just have to show up.
That is where the magic begins.
With Presence,
Anita
