Testimonials
"Anita Wood is an extraordinary artist and instructor of the watercolor medium. I started as a complete newbie-having no drawing or art classes of any kind. Anita has the ability to “start from the beginning”...and you will find yourself engrossed in the creative process and able to apply your new skills into painting subjects of your own interest. Anita is so encouraging and her classes include students of all skill levels, including professional artists. It has been a privilege to know her and to attend her classes at the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Florida.

"Anita, I have found your classes to be inspiring, educational and fun. You are a great teacher that comes to every class with a well planned, thought out class that includes personal instruction, demos, critiques and funny and fun stories as well. You care about your students and want them to stretch themselves and are always positive and finding ways for each individual to improve. You teach in a relaxed atmosphere and your classes were my favorites, and I have been taking classes for many, many years. I have missed you and your classes so much this past year."

"Anita you are an exceptional watercolor instructor. You go beyond just the basics, but challenge students with the tougher problems of composition, sight lines and acquiring subjects. Recently, I painted a picture that I had done years ago......before I took your classes. What a difference! Mostly, as an amateur, elderly student, I respect your encouragement, honest critiques and sharing that "every day is a Great Painting Day." Thanks to you, I have such pleasure in my retirement."

"Anita, you have been one of my favorite teachers. You are always so prepared and present new motivations and new techniques each class. I have learned so much from you and also value your friendship. I have missed you very much this year. Your positive comments and suggestions have helped all of us to keep growing in our art and in our confidence."

"Anita, I feel blessed to have found you as an art instructor on my watercolor retirement journey. I love the fact that you demonstrate techniques in class, because I have had other instructors who don’t or won’t. It has made a huge difference in my skill development. I have also discovered that being a great artist does not automatically make you a great teacher. You, however, are BOTH. I look forward to more art journeys together."

"Anita is a very talented and brilliant teacher who is extremely knowledgeable and always very well prepared. In each and every class of hers that I have taken, she not only provided meaningful and well-planned instruction, but she also circulated around the class to instruct, guide and advise each student’s work. In addition to being a wonderful teacher, Anita is personable, easy to get along with and interested in the progress of each of her students as well as pursuing her art personally and professionally. As a master teacher, I appreciate the qualities Anita has that make her classes work so well."

"About five years ago I searched around looking for a way to expand my skills in acrylic art painting. I had taken a couple of courses at a local community center; however, I was not pleased with the art instructor. Then I discovered the Dunedin Art Center in Dunedin, Florida. Just by great luck, I decided, along with my partner, on some acrylic art classes that Ms. Anita Wood was teaching. That was five years ago .... Since that time I have looked forward to spending each winter and spring in classes with Ms. Wood at the Dunedin Art Center. She was just the instructor I had been looking for. She is not shy at all about showing her class participants all the art tips she has learned in her life-long work as a professional artist. She is inventive and never too structured with classes, always taking time to speak individually with each of her students to help ensure they understand. She is very patient and always provides encouragement and constructive criticism. In fact, I enjoyed her classes so much that I encouraged some of my friends to sign up for her classes. She has inspired me in so many ways and I can't wait to be in another one of her classes in the near future."

"I took two class sessions with Anita and enjoyed each so much. I'm a beginner and I didn't have confidence in some of the subject matter Anita picked. No worries - she takes things slowly, demonstrates thoroughly, clearly explains and, best of all, is so encouraging and empowering. I'm signed up for a summer class this year."
