ZOOM "Irrisistable IRIS" A Watercolor Painting
|Thursday, July 20, 27, August 3 1:00 - 4:00pm, August 10 1:00 - 2:00 for critique|
In this Zoom workshop our goal is to paint a beautiful Iris paying attention to all the ruffles and frills!
A selected picture of an Iris will be available to you. This will be my reference photo. My paper size will be 20"sq, 300# CP either Arches or Fabriano Artistico.
For our first session we will be discussing the methods and colors for this workshop along with the masking. The masking will be all around the Iris as the background will be painted first with a wet into wet approach.
The zoom sessions will be as follows: July 20 from 1-4 approx and will be applying the mask and selecting your colors for the background. I will paint a demo of the background and you are welcome to paint your background or complete this at your leisure. Remove the mask before the next session
July 27 from 1-4 will be masking any white in the petals that need to be kept white and then start with painting the petals. The Iris has so many ruffles and frills that our goal is to paint this wet-in-wet and create rich darks for forms
August 3 from 1-4 will be to continue and complete the painting of the flower.
August 10 starting at 1 will be time for critiques and any concerns that you might have.
All the classes will be recorded on zoom and also have a transcript of the recording available to you.
Upon registration you will be emailed the zoom invitation, Photo Reference which can be enlarged to your preferred size, material list and basic workshop outline.
